Les crêpes, avec leur forme ronde et couleur dorée rappellent le disque solaire, en référence au retour de la belle saison après la rude et sombre saison de l’hiver. Une tradition datant du Vè siècle de notre ère et liée au rite de la fertilité. La tradition consiste à faire sauter les crêpes dans les airs avec la main droite pendant que l’autre main tient une pièce d’or ou autre pièce, assurant la prospérité pour toute l’année !

Crepes, with their round shape and golden color recall the solar disk, in reference to the return of the beautiful season after the harsh and dark season of winter. A tradition dating back to the 5th century A.D. and linked to the fertility rite. The tradition consists in blowing the pancakes in the air with the right hand while the other hand holds a gold coin or other coin, ensuring prosperity for the whole year!
